Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash Review | Wishtrend
Recently I bought WishTrend’s Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash (what a mouthful) and gave it a shot. Check out my review below!
What Is a powder wash?
Enzyme products in skincare have two main functions – to exfoliate your skin and to help with inflammation. This particular wash comes as a powder that you mix with water to create a foamy paste before rubbing it on your face in a circular motion. It’s great for all skin-types but definitely for those of us with sensitive skin that can’t use rough exfoliants normally. Wishtrend even says that this wash can be used daily and incorporated into your usual skincare routine.
Made in Korea, this particular type of enzyme wash is apparently really popular in Korean beauty (or K-beauty) circles as part of a Korean skincare routine.
It even comes in a really handy bottle with an easy-open lid to help pour out the powder.
However, as with all products, make sure to test a small portion on your skin before doing the full wash. I tried some out on my hand a few hours before, just to make sure I didn’t have any negative reaction to the product before using it for real on my face. A good rule to follow with all new cosmetics and products!
What’s It Like?
At first I wasn’t sure about the practicality of using a powder wash – that’s a bit annoying, right? But it’s actually so easy! I shake out a small portion of the green powder into my hand then mix with just a dash of water. Too much and it’ll be too runny so it takes some time finding the perfect balance.
Because of its ingredients, this wash is great as a light exfoliant. I find most exfoliant washes are too abrasive and anger my skin, but this green tea wash is far more kind. You still get great exfoliation without being too hard.
The powder also has a great matcha smell which is a lovely bonus! Who doesn’t love their face smelling like matcha?
What’s in Wishtrend’s powder wash?
Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Sorbitol, Papain, Betaine, Cellulose Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate
It’s also great to note some extras about this wash:
- Cruelty-free
- Vegan Friendly
- Ethanol-free
- Paraben-free
- Silicon-free
- Steroid-free
- Artificial coloring-free
- Artificial fragrance-free
Wishtrend also says that this wash utilises green tea which “is a powerful antioxidant, rich in vitamins such as vitamin A, C, and E. Due to its relaxing effect from the comforting fragrance, it is a popular ingredient in K-beauty for calming and improving skin tone. Effective in incense oxidation and skin purification, and helps to clear the skin.”
The sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is also great for removing blackheads and help improve your overall skin texture.
What Does It Feel Like?
Using the wash feels great as it gently exfoliates your skin, but it also leaves your face feeling really clean. You know how sometimes products leave a gross-heavy feeling afterwards? This wash is the opposite. It’s really light, smells great and makes me skin feel super clean and soft afterwards.
However, it takes a few tries at first to get the right amount of powder-to-water ratio, but once you figure that out, you’re set!
Final Verdict on Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash
Although I was unsure when buying this wash, I’m 100% happy with the final results! It’s one of the best smelling products I’ve ever tried – who doesn’t love matcha? It’s a great wash that has definitely helped with my acne breakouts and leaves my skin feeling light and happy. And that’s the main goal, right?
Overall, I’m very happy and will continue buying this wash in the future!
