Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner Review | Klairs
One of the new products I’ve been trying out for the last few weeks is the Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner from Klairs. A new addition to their usual scented toner, I decided to give this one a shot. Was it worth it? Check out my review below!
What Is Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner?

Let’s get real here: I had no idea what a toner was. I know, right? How embarrassing.
However, I’ve heard so much about Klairs as a company and their supple preparation facial toner is hugely popular – just check out the reviews. Once I saw they had an unscented version of their toner, I knew I had to try it! Sometimes cosmetic and skincare products smells can really bother me, so knowing there was an unscented option was perfect. While the original toner still has great reviews, the unscented version is right up my alley.
While it’s listed as “unscented,” as in, there’s no added scents, there’s a faint medical-type smell but it’s nearly unnoticeable. Personally, that is far more preferable compared to a fragrant-smelling product. And honestly, I can hardly tell the smell is there.
It’s actually really simple to use, too. Once I’ve cleansed my skin (with the beautiful green tea wash) I just put a few drops directly into my hands, then pat it over my face until it’s dry. Some people use cotton pads, but I find you lose so much of the product within the pad. However, Klairs does say their specific 2-in-1 cotton pads are made for this toner, but I just prefer using my hands. Surely it saves product, right? But I do have the Klairs cotton pads just in case.
What’s It Like?
As always, I tested a small portion of the toner on the back of my hand a few hours before I intended on using it. You never really know how your skin will react to a product, so I find it far more beneficial to give everything a testing-period, just in case. Especially for those of us with sensitive skin! By the evening, I didn’t have a reaction so I added the toner into my night skin care routine.
The toner is much thicker than I imagined (thicker than water) and you have to actually lightly shake some out rather than pour it. Once I had a few thick drops on my palm, I used my hands to blot it around the face, then pat it in until it dried. Although it’s thick, the toner easily blended into my skin and it dried really fast. A perfect quality for a toner!
This unscented version is created without any essential oils and aims to balance the skin’s pH level so that’s always a bonus.
You also don’t need that much of the product to adequately cover your entire face, just a few shakes onto my palm. I’m hoping this bottle will last me a long time!

What Does It Feel Like?
After patting the toner into my skin and letting it dry, my skin immediately felt hydrated and soft. As a positive surprise, I’ve found this Klairs unscented toner is incredibly absorbent and light, while still giving my skin a hydrating feel. I literally couldn’t feel it sitting on my skin after it dried – I just felt hydrated. And maybe it was just my imagination, but I could swear my skin immediately looked brighter and my skin tone was far more even.
I also tend to have oily skin and was worried this toner may make it worse. Actually, it has helped! I’ve noticed an improvement to my skin in terms of texture while not getting oily. I also haven’t had any breakouts since using this toner. Hallelujah!
Once dried, which only takes a few seconds, I couldn’t tell that I had any product on my skin. My face just felt clean and soft. I hate feeling like I have loads of cosmetics or products on my face so this was a huge relief.

Final Verdict on Klairs’ Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner
It’s so easy to love! So far I’m very happy with my Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner. What a great product! It’s easy to apply and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated while being nearly completely unscented. I’ve personally found that it has helped my oily skin and improved my skin texture, even after a few days of using it. It’s lame, but I’m genuinely excited each night to use this product in my skincare routine. It just feels so nice!
This toner will stay in my routine for a long time!
