Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Review | Penetrating Oil by OGX

This penetrating oil, infused with argan oil, has been working wonders on my hair lately and I haven’t looked back. Could it work well for you, too? Check out my review below!

What is Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco?

This is my first experience with any type of hair oil, let alone argan oil. I was suffering pretty bad from an exceptionally frizzy hair and needed some help. A friend suggested this particular argan oil and I was hooked.

This formula of argan oil of Morocco helps to restore shine and softness in your hair while also making it feel super soft and silky. A bit more tame overall as well! It’s basically like my favourite Rich Moist Soothing cream, but for your hair!

I bought a 100 mL bottle to start off with. Even though I’ve used it for months, I still have so much of the bottle left to go. You really don’t need much product to make a difference (which is also nice on your budget). I only use a few drops on my palm each time and that’s more than enough for long, thick hair.

What’s Argan Oil of Morocco like?

The oil itself is thick without being impossible to work through your hair. After I shower and towel-dry my hair, I apply a small amount to my palm, rub my hands together then apply through my hair. I work it through my semi-wet hair before blow drying it to finish it off.

It has a nice, clean scent without being overpowering or obnoxious. I can definitely tell my hair smells nicer after using it, but it’s not too strong. Even if smells in skin care products or haircare bother you, this is gentle enough that it shouldn’t cause a problem.

For best results, use in conjunction with other OGX products as per the bottle. However, I was more than happy with my hair when just using this oil by itself. If your hair is really struggling, you could also use OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Argan Oil of Morocco Conditioner, alongside this penetrating oil. I found that the oil is enough for me.

This oil will also help protect your hair from styling heat and UV damage, while still creating soft, silky hair all day (and usually the next day for me, too). I also feel like my split ends are basically non-existent, but I’m not totally sure that’s all to due with this oil.

What’s in it this hair oil?

Penetrating Argan Oil of Morocco ingredients include: Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Fragrance (Parfum), Red 17 (CI 26100), Yellow 11 (CI 47000).

What does Argan Oil by OGX feel like?

When I apply the oil first to my palm, it’s hydrating without being sticky or gross. I then apply the oil to my partially wet hair, working it through to the ends. The argan oil applies easily to my hair, without making it feel oily or sticky.

Then, I brush and blow dry my hair to finish it off. That’s it! You can’t tell that I have product in my hair, but I can certainly see that it’s far less frizzy and looks a lot more healthy. Plus the argan oil leaves my hair smelling wonderful, so overall the whole process is easy and effective!

I was worried that using this type of hair oil might leave my hair looking and feeling greasy. This is absolutely not the case with Argan Oil of Morocco, plus it’s suitable for all hair types which is a big bonus. The oil leaves my hair feeling and looking so much better than normal. It’s nothing like using wax or styling hair care products that leave your hair stiff or hard.

This oil would also be great for those who regularly dye their hair and find the hair gets brittle and dry. The argan oil can easily replenish the lost hydration and return your hair to a soft, silky state.

Just make sure that when you use the bottle you don’t pour out too much product. A little goes a long way! Unfortunately the end nozzle of the bottle is a bit wide, so you don’t need to squeeze hard to get enough of the product out.

The only other issue I had with this was that the oil stays on my hands for awhile after applying it. When I use my blow dryer right away, I get the oil all over the handle. Washing it off is an easy fix, or rubbing the oil into your hands actually helps them feel soft and smooth later on. Sort of a win-win for both your hands and hair!

Final verdict on Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco

Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed by this argan oil and I definitely will be re-buying another bottle! It does exactly what it says it will: renews your hair, leaving it lush, soft, silky and smells great. This Moroccan argan oil works it’s magic in literally no time at all. The argan oil penetrates your hair to restore shine and reduce frizziness. I’m in love!

If you suffer from dry, frizzy or damaged hair and aren’t sure where to turn to, I would definitely recommend this Morocco Argan Oil for all hair types. It even works on my long, thick hair that loves to get frizzy.
