Vitamin E Eye Cream Review | Superdrug

There’s two main things I’m plagued with: Asian Flush (which I use Sunset Alcohol Flush Support for) and dark under-eyes (which I’m always looking for a better product). Unfortunately because I wear a lot of product under my eyes, I also need to properly hydrate my eyes which ends up being its own issue. So what’s the best way to do that? Lately I’ve been using Superdrug’s Vitamin E Eye Cream. But does it actually work? Check out my review below!

What is Vitamin E Eye Cream?

Vitamin E eye cream is just that – eye cream that uses Vitamin E.

You might see Vitamin E in a lot of eye creams. That’s because this vitamin is typically used to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and ideally prevent them from happening (to a certain extent). While I don’t have issues with wrinkles just yet, I figured a nourishing eye cream couldn’t hurt. Especially when I apply a lot of makeup and concealer to my under-eye bags.

One of the biggest issues people have and don’t realise is that their skin isn’t hydrated enough. We tend to focus on skin pigment issues, acne, dull skin tones and other obvious issues. But lack of hydration can cause some of these issues, or make them even worse.

Lately I’ve been using this eye cream and my favourite Rich Moist Soothing cream to make sure my skin is getting enough hydration. This is particularly important in the cold winter months when your skin will be the most dry.

What’s this Vitamin E Eye Cream from Superdrug like?

I haven’t really bought many products from Superdrug before, but I figured I would give this cream a shot. It’s pretty inexpensive, although it does come in a tiny 15 ml tube. The website says it also uses a formula with “Glycerin and a naturally active energising complex to nourish and help improve the appearance of the delicate eye area.” Certainly sounds good to me!

While the tube is very small, I’ve been using mine nearly every night and I still have a good portion left. Of course because the eye area is fairly small, you don’t need a lot of product each time. It also doesn’t have any scent, so that’s a great bonus. I can’t stand products that are too fragrant, especially right around my eyes.

Superdrug states the cream’s benefits include:

  • Light and non-greasy
  • Helps improve the appearance of the eye area
  • Dermatologically approved

While I can’t comment on the improved-wrinkle aspect of this cream, it certainly keeps my eye area hydrated. I also haven’t really noticed a huge difference in the skin tone or improved lightness to that area, but I wasn’t expecting that to happen, anyway. The main point of this cream is to keep your eye area hydrated and lessen the appearance of fine lines.

What does this eye cream feel like?

Each night, I simply squeeze a small amount onto my fingertip and gently pat the cream into my eye area. Obviously, you’ll want to avoid your actual eyeball!

I’ve also actually started using this eye cream after I get out of the shower in the morning and moisturise my face as normal. I simply add in this eye cream into that routine, so my eyes are getting proper hydration, too. Using this Vitamin E eye cream twice a day won’t cause issues, unlike other products that are more harsh on your skin.

The first thing I noticed when using this Vitamin E eye cream is that it doesn’t sting. Thank God! There’s nothing worse than trying out a new eye cream and it burns the life out of your eye area. This eye cream is really hydrating and soothing, without burning or stinging. I like to apply this after I’ve done my typical Korean skincare routine each night. Once I’ve finished with those product, I complete my routine with this eye cream and a facial moisturiser before going to bed.

Final verdict on Vitamin E Eye Cream from Superdrug

Overall, I really enjoy this eye cream! It keeps my eye area happy and hydrated, which is really all that I can ask for. I don’t necessarily notice any difference with my dark undereye circles, but I didn’t really expect to, either. My main focus is keeping that area hydrated so I can continue to use heavy concealers for my bags. If there’s a reasonably priced eye cream that could also lessen my dark circles, I would definitely try it!

Until then, this cream is perfectly soothing and moisturising.
